China Belt and Road Initiative and its west Asia Strategy
Declared in 2013, the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI, also referred as One Belt, One Road), the basic plan is to fortify the connectivity of China with the world. It consolidates new and old undertakings, covers a far reaching geographic scope, and incorporates the efforts to strengthen infrastructure and social ties. Some BRI projects are already underway, such as those associated with the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) – a 3000-kilometer corridor that runs from China’s Kashgar to Pakistan’s Gwadar.
At this event, Mr. SHAOQUETT MOSELMANE gave an overview of how this project is going on and then PROF. AMIN SAIKAL AM explained a bit about CPEC. PROF. GUO XUETANG and PROF. CHEN HONG were also there to explain all the other BRI projects and where this project is standing right now.
