The guest speaker for the event was the former Foreign Minister and Premier of NSW the Hon. Bob Carr stating that the Israel-Palestine argument is not being fought by two sides that wish to vanquish the other, but are working towards a peaceful and mutually satisfactory outcome, such as the Two State Solution. Prof. Carr also congratulated the Arabic Friends of Labor for holding the event and highlighted the significant contribution that individuals from Arabic heritage have made to NSW and Australia.
